Job Summary

Development Expertise Center (DEC) is a National Civil Society Organization (CSO) aspires to see all marginalized children properly fostered. The organization has three major programme areas; Child Development, Gender and Life Skill Development; and Skills and Entrepreneurship Development. DEC works in three National Regional States of Amhara, Afar and Oromia and Addis Ababa City Administration. 

Job Summary; 

The Project Officer under Skills and Entrepreneurship Development Program For Giving for Change project based three National Regional States of Amhara, Afar , Oromia, South Ethiopia. and Addis Ababa City Administration She/He will participates in the planning, coordination, implementations and reporting activities of the Project. She/he collaboratively work with Program Coordinator , grassroot community ;CBO, Religious leaders, youth movements ,women self-help group (WSHG), cluster level associations , farmer groups, and informal groups, mobilizes resources, initiates and implements projects and ensure achievements to attain the organization mission and objectives.

Job Requirements

Education & work

• Experience; At least MSc/MA in social science, Health and other development fields
• At least 3 years direct CSO work experience

Roles and responsibilities

• plan, organize and implement events including workshops, awareness-raising campaigns, and experience sharing opportunities;       
• Develops concept notes and/or fundable project proposals;
• Identifies funding sources, potential project/program partners and other stakeholders;
•  Ensure DEC safeguarding policies are implemented at all levels in its project site;
• Institutionalize and mainstream inclusion and gender equality; 
• Facilitating technical training and workshops related to project;
• Designing strategy to reach youths and girls in the society;
• Assure weather the project is well-Organized and runs smoothly;
• Develop quality and timely report;
• Organize and facilitate field visit and work with communities

Additional Skill

• Experience to work with grass root community such as CBOs, Religious leaders, youth movements and informal groups.
• Experience to work with women self-help group (WSHG), cluster level associations and farmer groups.
• Experience on community mobilization and community domestic resource mobilization
• Experience on Income Generating Activities (local resource mobilization).
• Experience on lobby and advocacy works and system changes.
• Excellent communication skills both on local languages and English languages.
• At least two years CSO/NGO work experience with recommendation letter
