Soufflet has started its operation in Ethiopia in 2017 is commissioning its malt factory in Addis Ababa while actively working on local malt barley sourcing.

To manage the Importations, Inbound and outbound transport, procurements and sales of by product Soufflet is looking to hire its Logistics and Procurement Manager.

Core Mission :

The Logistic and Procurement Manager is in charge to follow up, coordinate and supervise all international imports.

He/She is planning, budgeting, and organizing the Inbound and outbound logistics (local Ethiopian transport).

He/She is in charge for all procurement activities (except barley) and is the focal person for contract management.

Major Responsibilities :

The Logistics and Procurement Manager is in charge of:

Importation:

  • Establishing Standard Operational Procedures for the importation process,
  • Ensuring that foreign suppliers provide timely all documentation deemed necessary to have an expedited custom clearance process,
  • Requesting and obtaining on behalf of the company all necessary Duty-Free Privilege
  • Support freight forwarders and be the key point of contact for them for inland transport and custom proces.
  • Relation with banks, importers and central bank for the allocation of foreign currency;Develop dashboards and KPI to follow-up on the importation process and report to the management of the Company

Transport and warehousing:

  • Tender, select and contract transporters to ensure adequate transport for barley and malt
  • Manage the planning and execution of all transport activities
  • Effectively manage inbound and outbound transport of the company (operation on time and at lowest cost)
  • Contract warehouse as per Agronomy needs
  • Is involved in the operations & management of all satellite Warehouse

Procurement and Sales:

  • Developing a procurement manual and update it regularly for all non-barley products.
  • Leading any procurement needs (goods and services) as per company needs
  • Developing suppliers’ database
  • Manage the execution of contract, develop strategic partnership with suppliers and lead cost-saving initiative.
  • Prepare the annual budget within his scope (transport, warehouse, consumables, local capex, etc.) and follow its proper execution
  • Identify buyers for barley by products and ensure proper execution of these sales contracts;

Job Requirements

Qualification: 

  • MA or BA Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or related fields

Experience and knowledge

  • Above 7 Years of experience in FMCG industry. Out of which 3 years as a manager or supervisor
  • Experience in importation and customs rules and procedure is required.
  • Knowledge of advanced logistics, 5S and other recent logistics & warehouse management systems are a plus.
