ROLE PURPOSE:

Responsible for the administration of staff benefits, transfer pension fund to bank account, handling termination payment of staff. Prepares detail monthly payroll tax schedule and settles government obligations timely

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Finance Manager - Treasury and Disbursement

 Staff directly reporting to this post: N/A

Dotted line relationship: - Accounting, reporting, Logistics (Procurement) 

 Functional relationship: HR, Logistics and Budget Holders

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Responsible for the administration of Income tax, withholding tax, VAT, pension fund and any other staff benefit for SCI entitled national employees
  • Prepare monthly VAT schedule for claim to USAID and Revenue Authority for all USAID and Non USAID awards and follow up VAT receivable balance and responsible for reconciliation of VAT.
  • Prepares monthly pension fund schedule and arranges fund transfer to designated government bank account
  • Calculates and keeps schedule of any terminal payment entitlement provision of SCI national employees
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of pension fund balance at the agency with the depositing agency. 
  • As per SCI HR policy, prepares final payments for employees leaving the organization and advice sub office finance staffs on computation of benefit and terminal payments
  • Prepares detail monthly payroll tax and withholding tax schedule and reconcile with Agresso system general ledger balance timely settlement of government obligations and ensure a reminder is sent to all field offices and sub offices for any outstanding VAT Supporting documents.
  • Perform any other activities based on Line manager’s assignment

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related fields
  • 2 years’ work experience
  • Computer literate
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written,
  • Teams, in the event of emergencies
  • Commitment to Save the Children values
