Currently, our business unit Dereja is undertaking projects in tackling the issue of youth unemployment. Dereja is a pioneer in establishing Career Centre services in Higher Education Institutions, organizing regional and national job fairs and design and deliver employability skills training for fresh graduates. Thus, we are looking for a qualified candidate to coordinate regional project activities as a Universities and candidates’ relation coordinator in Addis Ababa and the regions.

Job Summary

The University and Candidate Relation Coordinator is responsible for managing the activities regarding University and fresh graduates. S/he will be responsible for the communication, delivering service in consolation with the regional manager, preparing various events and ensuring the smooth running of Dereja programs. 

Job Requirement:

The University and Candidate Relation Coordinator will have the following responsibilities.

Building Relationship with Universities

  • Creating effective strategies and execution of the activities that will help in various programs of Dereja namely, Dereja.com, Dereja Academy program, Job fairs, career center services and other related projects
  • Represent the Dereja team by regularly attending meetings with university Career center staffs a
  • To act as a liaison between Dereja and the universities on delivering the services at the absence of the regional manager
  • Create specific strategies for easier and effective execution of the activities that needs to be delivered timely for the aforementioned Dereja activities and informing for the any delayed with a proposed solution. Continuous follow up is also required
  • Deliver services precisely and effectively on time to achieve the goal based on the agreement
  • Support and follow up with Regional Coordinators located in the university in ensuring the project is running according to the schedule and agreed plan.
  • Communicating with the Regional Coordinators on Dereja target and provide assistance on the projects
  • Reaching out to existing and new University in Dereja contract and facilitate ensuring organization are using Dereja Service
  • Providing inputs in Project Proposal, budget preparation and other project related activities on Dereja.
  • Be the link between the universities and Dereja projects.

Campaign and Events

  • Organize and manage the different events that will take place with different stakeholders under the mandate of Dereja
  • Advance the effective integration of communications, marketing messages and activities across students and ensures such integration within each step
  • Support in Developing communication plan and strategy with the communication department in promoting Dereja Academy and Virtual Job Fair.
  • Implement the communication strategy to address students easily and connect with them to pass the valuable information
  • Attending, organizing and coordinating university trainings, workshops, job fairs etc... Events to achieve the project goal

Stake holders Management

  • Facilitate effective communications, marketing messages and activities across all stakeholders and ensures smooth service delivery
  • Participate in trainings that will be provided By Dereja and to provide the trainings to those who require the training
  • Maintain contacts and follow up with potential stakeholders that will be involved in the project

Data Management

  • Making sure students and fresh graduates’ registration are meeting the targets
  • Keeping a clear and clean database of beneficiaries of Dereja programs
  • Collecting information from the universities regarding the list of potential candidates.
  • Provide Candidates data/information to the recruitment team. 

Reporting

  • Collecting information and data about activates followed by reporting progress as required
  • Keep records of all information and activities related to the project and clarify, document and presentation to upper management
  • Developing Plan and implementing the planned activities on the Dereja Service
  • Compiling Reports for Regional Coordinators and providing weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly report the University and Candidates relations department.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Excellent in Microsoft office applications: Word Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
  • Experience with providing unparalleled customer service
  • Excellent Oral and written communication skills (English and Amharic)
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced working environment
  • Outstanding Organizational and coordination skills 
  • Sound knowledge of public sector operations, specifically in universities and other educational institutes
  • Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills, demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse staff and students
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and meet deadlines in a timely way with attention to detail and quality
  • Available to travel frequent times out of Addis Ababa
  • Excellent English is written and oral communication, as well as basic computer skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Basic problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Able to perform in a tight schedule
  • Ability effectively work within a team
  • Ability to follow up
  • Takes initiative, responsible, good time management and organization skills
  • Flexibility and tolerance

Education and Experience:

  • B.A degree in any Natural or Social Science Fields.
  • 3 years of relevant experience
