Rorank Business S.C. is subsidiary of a UK base company called Castleford Investment Holdings Limited. We manufacture and distribute our flagship brands, Super Eagle and Crystal that are renowned for their great taste and quality. Our new leading edge manufacturing and bottling facility is located in Cha Cha. 

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Under the direction of Production manager, the shift Engineer has the duty & responsibility to review the performance of processing machinery in the factory; control the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the Distillery process; provide the necessary support for processing and technical staff & supervise and coordinate the processing and technical activities at varying stages, follows up and evaluates the effectiveness of Mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works; be responsible to develop, implement and maintain management system that will ensure, efficient and cost effective use and upkeep of utilities, plant machineries, electrical and instrumentation facilities

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews the performance of processing machinery in the factory and controls the quantitative and qualitative aspects of alcohol in process; provides necessary support to process and technical staffs;
  • Ascertains the optimal utilization of manpower, identifies unnecessary losses to ensure optimum production to minimum cost;
  • Constantly appraises all recorded laboratory figures and data from total book, average book, production book, field sample book, molasses record book, etc. initiates necessary corrective action;
  • Controls laboratory analysis figures to maintain optimal quality product, highest recovery with the lowest possible cost; 
  • Reviews continuously the effectiveness of the program of preventive and corrective maintenance, plant inspection, calibration schemes and annual overhaul of mechanical, electrical and instrument works and evaluates the performance and recommends corrective actions;
  • Reviews regularly the effectiveness of work procedures (maintenance, instrument calibration, calibration schedules, validation and revalidation of soft and hard ware in use, electric energy utilization and the effectiveness of service provided) and recommends corrective and preventive actions ;
  • Inspects plants/machinery’s and reviews their capabilities to determine optimal utilization, efficiency and economy of work production;
  • Participates in the preparation of work plan and schedules based on the company’s short and long term (strategic) plan; formulates and implements functional objectives and strategies;
  • Ensures that all necessary materials and production requirement consumables are available all times; 
  • Controls and maintains departmental documentation of processing data and reports;
  • Assures regular collection and data analysis, and prepares periodical reports;
  • Initiates spare parts replenishment order in consultation with end users;
  • Compiles data, prepares summaries as requested and conducts professional correspondence; maintains files of confidential information;
  • Ensures all records, files, manuals, soft wares , data, statistics, analysis, plans schedules… and external documents are well managed and kept as per the record and document procedures;
  • Undertakes research activities of outstanding problems, prepares reports and summaries for submittal to the Production Manager;
  • Develops, implements and maintains the computerized management system and other improved management systems, with the view to create opportunities for improvement;
  • Reviews and authorizes major expenditure for capital and expense items within authorized limits;
  • Utilizes resource in areas of responsibilities as provided in annual work plan and budget within authorized limits; authorizes material issue tickets;
  • Creates and maintains conducive working environment that enhances workers involvement in achieving organizational objectives;
  • Takes due responsibility and accountability for managing and controlling resources and property allocated for work within area of responsibility;
  • Implements and applies fully the collective labor agreement, internal regulations and other relevant statutory instructions and orders;
  • Participates in the assessment of training need and follow up of the training development program for process and technical staffs; ensures that personnel are properly and adequately trained and have the necessary orientation and acquire knowledge of their task/assignment;
  • Appraises and evaluates performance of process and technical staff as required;
  • Deputizes the Production Manager in his absence;
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION: BSc. degree in Chemical Engineering, process engineering and applied Chemistry                                                                   EXPERIENCE:  5 years in Distillery plant or related manufacturing industries
