Based in: Addis Ababa

Duration of contract: One Year

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated, result driven and energetic HR Intern who will provide support in the various human resource functions in consultation and alignment with PSI/Ethiopia’s HR department. We are looking for a smart, motivated and innovative person who excels at understanding the HR needs and bring HR operational excellence.

Key Result Areas:

  • HR service delivery (e.g. recruitment, payroll, insurance, employee benefits)
  • Record keeping and documentation

Your contribution

  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
  • Maintaining organized and up-to-date employee records and HR database with useful HR metrics.
  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
  • Communicate new hires and collect required documentation and ensure on time registration for Private Organization Employees’ Pension Agency.
  • Participating in benefits tasks, such as claim resolutions, reconciling benefits statements, and approving invoices for payment.
  • Be actively involved in recruitment
  • Performing administrative tasks for the department.
  • Coordinate, communicate and record staff holiday and other leaves based on organization’s policy including leave plan, follow up and leave utilizations.
  • Completing termination paperwork and assisting with exist interviews by following up with line managers to ensure exit interviews are carried out and appropriate records are kept when individuals leave PSI.
  • Supporting in implementing effective onboarding plans.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Prepare and disseminate monthly timesheets to all staff, follow up and collect signed timesheets and properly record for further use and reference.
  • Support other assigned functions.

Job Requirements

What are we looking for? The basics

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Management or related fields with zero (0) year of experience
  • Proficient in English and Amharic languages, both written and verbal communication
