Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs)|East, Ethiopia

Act to End NTDs | East is a five-year cooperative agreement through which RTI supports national neglected tropical disease (NTD) programs to reach WHO NTD control and elimination goals through proven, cost-effective public health interventions which span the regions of Oromia, Tigray, Beneshangul-Gumuz and Gambella.

Position Summary:

The Procurement and Logistics Officer is responsible for the overall procurement and logistics activities of Act to End NTD/East and other projects of RTI NTD Ethiopia. He/she will closely work with the finance and grants manager to undertake the procurement, logistics and warehousing related activities on time and on a quality manner. The procurement and logistics officer is responsible to manage and coordinate logistics and supply. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all the procurement activities, from preparing RFQ/RFP, collecting proforma, preparing agreement and invoices delivering PO to the suppliers.
  • Perform procurement activity in line with RTI and client’s procurement procedures and policies.
  • Undertake the planned procurement activities as per the annual approved purchase plan.
  • Maintain and place travel, hotel/workshop supplier pre-qualification list, make periodic assessment for framework agreement based on project needs, hire and facilitate workshop venues.
  • Responsible to ensuring fair and reasonable competitive procurement as per RTI Procedure and Policies and adopt framework agreement with winner service providers.
  • Work in collaboration with MOH, FMHACA, USAID, EPSA, FHF and LFTW on facilitating the distribution of procured items and make sure all documentation is in place for the delivery and distribution of imported items.
  • Provide status update on outstanding procurement to project management team as needed.
  • Manage correspondence with Charity and Society Organization (CSO), Ethiopian Immigration and Nationality Affairs to process VISA and work permit for RTI international staffs.
  • Facilitate workshop/ training programs and ensure or provide documents, the necessary materials, manuals, procedures to participants. Assist with per diem payments for participants during training and workshops if necessary.
  • Manage the small size store and Fixed Asset.
  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement management or relevant field of study

Experiences:

  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in procurement, fleet, and warehouse management
  • Knowledge/experience of working with USAID funded projects.
  • Work experience on fleet and warehouse management

Skills and Abilities

  • Professional certification related to the profession is an added advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Knowledge of USAID procurement policies and regulations is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task & work well with others.
  • Ability to listen & communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience working with accounting system, QuickBooks
