We are looking for a Smart Start Training Coordinator for owning their futures project. Under the supervision of immediate supervisor, the quality assurance and training coordinator will be primarily responsible, to support and the quality assurance/improvement activities/initiatives within the project mainly at project implementation sites, define and translate quality standard measures with and from adolescent girls’ point of view is highly expected, support the efficient and timely implementation of Owning their future program in the assigned area, coordinating, oversee and execute capacity building trainings on Smart Start, SA and PAC to the project staffs, HEWs and community structure and compile, analyze and report QA and training related activities to the Core Team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take lead in overall coordination of regional QA and training activities to ensure efficient delivery of FP/SRH quality services and achievement of PSI Ethiopia’s mission
  • Implement the quality assurance/improvement of the project with the regional and district level health bureaus.
  • Supporting project staffs, HEW and community structure in setting up a system to ensure client-provider safety at service delivery points
  • Work with the Quality Assurance manager cascade the QA/QI tools, SOPs, assets and tracking systems at project implementation site level.
  • Closely work with MSIE QA team to ensure best quality of FP clinical care by regular monitoring and competency assessment of service providers with support from Quality Assurance Manager
  • Support training and Quality Audit activities at regional and district level jointly with project staffs, HEW and health service providers.
  • In close collaboration with core team and project staff at different levels, plan and execute all QA and training requirements at regional and district level.
  • Ensure action plans related to EQA/IQA , training and supportive supervision findings are timely completed.
  • Ensure equitable and quality service delivery on adolescent’s access to modern contraception in accordance with the designed SMART START tools; in compliance with MOH rules and regulations and national guidelines and work closely with government stakeholders to create quality agreements, ensure quality standards are met, and resolve issues related to quality service delivery promptly and effectively.
  • Develop and ensure timely execution of the quality audit Plan, coordinate regulatory inspections, and report significant SMART START design fidelity issues and standard clinical quality deficiencies to responsible bodies.
  • Prepare training and quality assurance operational plan and report periodically the implemented activities to immediate supervisor and core team
  • Generate insight on the experience of married adolescent girls to track on whether they are getting quality service or not.
  • Support standardization of approaches married adolescent girls tailored clinical service delivery particularly national level manuals/guides and site visit program checklists.
  • Ensure on-time report for the AEs happened in the project operating sites as per the PSIE guideline.
  • In close coordination core team and woreda health office lead and coordinate the planning and cascade of Smart start, SA, PAC,GBV and QA training.
  • Ensure the proper and timely implementation and quality of Smart start, SA, PAC, GBV and QA trainings and deliverables.
  • Keeping data of training supplies and training materials up to date.
  • Obtain and keep training records and files up to date.
  • Record and keep track of all training monitoring and evaluation tools like registration and attendance.
  • Assess training gaps and recommend.

Generic Duties of the Position:

  • Assist immediate supervisor and core team in preparation and implementation of training and QA plans and schedules.
  • Prepare, communicate and implement weekly work schedules for his or her section.
  • Coordinate and supervise daily operations and service delivery within his or her section.
  • Coach, train, educate and mentor subordinates and support them in handling complex issues in their assigned duties.
  • Report the periodic performance of subordinates and provide them regular feedback and support to improve their performance.
  • Provide support to immediate supervisor in all matters related to the management and supervision of subordinates, operations and resources within his or her section.  

Job Requirements

Background

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, SRH, population studies or related field with two (2) years of demonstrated experience.

 OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, SRH, population studies or related field with four (4) years of demonstrated experience.

What would get us excited?

  • Experience on adolescents and youth focused programs.
  • Experience in existing Health Extension program and PHCU in Ethiopia.
  • Ample experience in in improving and enhancing quality of FP service in general and adolescent friendly FP program in particular.
  • Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA in clinical service delivery
  • Experience in training facilitation skill
