Job Summary

CVT is a US based non-governmental and non-profit organization engaged in mental health programs in Ethiopia to support the Eritrean refugees in Mai-Ayni and Adi-Harush refugee camps and internally displaced persons (IDPs). Currently, CVT is looking for qualified Data Entry Assistant to support the efforts in responding to the IDP needs in Mai-Tsebri and Shire areas. This is a full time position based in Mai-Tsebri and/or Shire for six months. The position holders will report to the Senior Program Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer technically, and to the Admin/HR Officer administratively

Major duties and responsibilities: 

  • Review and enter paper form data, and clean electronic records of data related to clinical and community outreach activities. 
  • Enter data into a database
  • Verify that data are correctly entered and are clean for analysis 
  • Back-up data storage files after data entry
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of client data.
  • Ensure the secure storage of electronic data (as well as paper forms while in possession).
  • Maintain original, blank, paper copies of data collection and monitoring forms.
  • Ensure that a supply of adequate paper forms is available as needed by clinical and counseling staff. 
  • Work with M&E and clinical staff to ensure adequate procedures are in place to securely collect, enter, and store confidential client information 
  • Contribute to other tasks to support the monitoring and evaluation of the program, as directed. 
  • May support the Senior Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer in some tasks related to regular reporting for internal or external audiences. 

Terms of Employment: Six months contract

Qualifications Required

  • Excellent computer skills, especially strong proficiency with SPSS, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Diploma or above in Information technology or related.
  • Must be fluent in Tigrigna, Amharic, and English, written and spoken. 
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently, self-motivated. 
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Good team player: able to take direction and work collaboratively with others.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change. Desired:
  • Experience in data entry. 
  • Experience with online surveys, such as SurveyGizmo.
  • Fluency in other Eritrean languages such as Saho, Tigre, etc.
  • Degree or other certifications in social science, computer science, program evaluation, etc
