FH Ethiopia would like to invite potential candidates to apply on the following position for Tigray Emergency Response JEOP.
- Position title: Dispatch Officer
- Duration of contract: One year Contract
Basic Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the allocated foods have arrived in each distribution site with the required food packages before distribution takes place.
- Receive annual commodity allocation from the JEOP Manager and ensure that the required warehouse space is in place in each FH field.
- Ensure that the PDPs (Primary Distribution Sites) are keeping standard warehousing requirements per FH/donor Food warehouse management guideline.
- Prepare dispatch allocation to each distribution center and provide to the dispatcher in consultation with commodity manager and commodity officer.
- Timely updates to distribution sites about the dispatch schedule.
- Receive weekly dispatch report from the PDP dispatcher, summarize and forward the report to the commodity officer on weekly bases.
- Follow up that the food shipment reached at PDP sites based on the allocations and within the required standard.
- Follow up the food dispatch to each FH site based on the allocation given and within the period it is expected to be dispatched.
- Support and guide the field Dispatchers in line with FH warehouse management standards.
- Ensures that the warehouses have all required documents on their shelf and necessary warehouse supplies are in place.
SAFETY AND SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security policy of FH. Lapses in safe conduct can jeopardize the health and welfare of all staff.
- Every FHE staff member has an obligation to learn and understand the security situation where they are located.
- Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security. This includes, but not limited to, personal safety, road safety, etc.
GENDER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide adequate time to staff to participate in gender sensitivity workshops and related events.
- Through observation, interviews, and spot-checks, ensure that the staff planning, Implementation, monitoring and Evaluation process is gender sensitive.
- Facilitate open and regular discussions with staff on about the work environment, policies, and values convenient to gender issues.

Job Requirements
- BA Degree in Agriculture or in other related field of study.
- Computer literate, Interpersonal skills
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience preferably in an NGO setting is an added advantage.
- Enthusiasm about the Heartbeat of FHE
