Job Summary

  • Dan Church Aid (DCA) is a legally registered international NGO engaged in development and humanitarian assistance to poor rural people in Ethiopia in partnership with Ethiopian NGOs and civil society organizations.
  • DCA Ethiopia is looking for a competent Storekeeper for its field office in Gambella. The Storekeeper is responsible for Stores Management, DCA Gambella field office

Type of Contract: One year with extension probability based on performance and funding

Reporting to: Finance and Admin coordinator 

Expected Start Date: As soon as possible

Main tasks of the position:

  • Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Admin and Finance Coordinator, in Gambella, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the stores management activities of DCA Gambella Field Office.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrange and fix the Store in the most operational way for reception, storage, preparation and delivery of the goods; Optimize permanently the space of the stock
  • Ensure all materials, assets and resources are maintained in good condition at all times, and all necessary paperwork’s are in order and updated.
  • Is responsible of the storage of the goods in accordance with DCA policies.
  • Ensure the security of the goods and the persons in and around the warehouse.
  • Report any incident to the direct line manager using proper forms.
  • Is responsible for the reception and issuing of the goods in accordance to DCA policies;
  • Work closely with the programme team in the field & Prolog and to plan the good reception of the goods and allocation in the stock;
  • Oversee repair and maintenance of field assets, equipment and machines periodically. Proper maintenance schedules / records should be kept and made available with ease
  • Responsible for overall compliance with the stock management procedures.
  • Reception, follow up, and quality control of the items delivered by supplier, DCA Addis and other bases;
  • Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies; report those to accounting for reimbursements and record keeping.
  • Ensure all the specifications and proper functioning the delivered items with Technical responsible focal person involved.
  • Prepare all documentation regarding each reception of goods and ensure the archiving of the forms properly fill and sign and update stock cards and stock report accordingly;
  • Under supervision of Gambella Admin and Finance Coordinator, work closely with the ProLog on delivery to the field.
  • Prepare and update stock level, ensure all assets are tagged.

  • Ensure the supervision of the loadings/unloading of the goods.
  • Responsible to produce a report on the fixed asset management and update on regular basis.
  • To undertake any other duties requested by the line manager.

Job Requirements

Key Qualifications / Experience:

  • BA Degree in Procurement and Supply Management or Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field from a recognized University
  • Minimum of two years of experience in similar Positions

Technical & Other Skills

  • Good level of computer literacy, including database applications.
  • Working experience in similar context is an asset.
  • Working capability in English is required. Working knowledge of a local language is an advantage.
