MassDel is a services marketplace on a mission to transform the delivery and services market by seamlessly connecting service seekers and providers through innovative technology platforms. MassDel is currently looking to hire a highly competent Deputy General Manager.

Responsibilities and duties of Deputy General Manager

  •  Develop and execute high quality business strategies and plans while ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives
  • Lead and motivate subordinates to advance employee engagement and develop high performing managerial and technical teams
  • Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission
  • Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain the goals of the company or its shareholders
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities
  • Ensure company strategies, policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are followed at all times
  • Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities
  • Read all submitted reports by lower rank managers to reward performance, prevent issues and resolve problems
  • Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the company in ways that strengthen its profile
  • Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
  • Control budgets and optimize expenses
  • Ensure employees are motivated and productive
  • Manage daily operations of the company.
  • Ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the overall delivery and quality of the firm’s offerings to customers.
  • Evaluate/Appraise upon key investments in equipment, infrastructure, and talent, and present them for decision with the General Manager.
  • Develop annual and quarterly plans and follow-up their implementation
  • Put in place firm and employee performance monitoring system and involve in evaluation/appraisal of the firm’s employees.
  • Monitor implementation and proper execution of planned activities.
  • Manage human resources, hiring process of new employees, and talent development programs working closely with respective department heads.
  • Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency
  • Establish and maintain controls
  • Coordinate financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency
  • Facilitate the preparation and analysis of reports
  • Review performance data (financial, sales and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels
  • Oversee the development or amendment of company software applications by coordinating the different departments.
  • Produce quarterly and annual performance reports and present to general manager for review and approval.
  • Do other tasks given by the General Manager.

Job Requirements

  • At least master’s degree in marketing management or business administration with at least five years’ experience in business/ marketing management, management consulting, and so on.
  • Proven experience as a manager or similar executive role
  • Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
  • Ability to lead and motivate people
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of business operations and procedures
  • Demonstrable strategic thinking abilities
  • Educate senior executives in making effective decisions
  • Construct forecasts and analytical models
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends and market changes
  • Excellent reading, listening and writing skills in the English and Amharic languages is a requirement.
  • Solid understanding of how software is made and how it works
