- The position holder will be responsible for the overall success of the business; Developing and executing the company’s business strategies; Providing strategic advice to the General Manager; Preparing and implementing comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement. Responsible to ensure the company is constantly moving towards fulfilling its short-term and long-term objectives and does not diverge from its strategic guidelines.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain the goals of the RESCO and the shareholders
- Provide strategic advice to the General Manager so that s/he will have accurate view of the market and the company’s future
- Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities
- Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are followed at all times
- Synchronize the functions among Sales Division, Parts Division and Service Division
- Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities
- Oversee the company’s financial performance, investments and other business ventures
- Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of managers providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance
- Ensure that a high-performance culture is introduced and maintained in the Agriculture business
- Work with all managers on developing KPI which will be aligned to all employees
- Read all submitted reports by lower rank managers to reward performance, prevent issues and resolve problems
- Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the company in ways that strengthen its profile
- Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
Job Requirements
- BSc/BA in Agricultural Engineering, agronomy or relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred
- Minimum of 10 - 15 years of experience Ethiopian Agriculture Industry in managing agricultural machinery manufacturing/ AGCO machinery & spare parts sales
- Either have experience working in an agriculture dealership in Ethiopia or worked for the state-owned farming enterprises;
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Characteristics
- Track record for initiative taking and business development;
- Strong technical knowledge in agriculture machinery and farm operations;
- History of team building and focused leadership;
- Existing network of contacts within the Ethiopian Agriculture sector;
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting and marketing;
- Be willing to travel regularly within Ethiopia Demonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans;
- Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company and the agricultural sector in general;
- Ability to keep up to date with new developments in the product lines;
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance;
- Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
