- We are looking for a Translator/Editor who is responsible for the translation and edition of health communication materials from their origin of language to English or Amharic. This role is hands-on and often involves working as part of a team. The Translator/Editor must be able to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear communication, excellent understanding of major health development interventions in the country and attention to detail. They must work well under pressure without compromising quality and deadline.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read source documents critically and clearly understand the intention and context of the material to be translated/edited.
- Work closely with the program or department focal person to ascertain that the work is on the right track.
- Translate/edit the source material in a way that can easily be understood by the intended audience.
- Submit neatly crafted document in soft copy with editable version.
- Make corrections as per the feedback given by the program or department focal person.
- When necessary, attend on consultative meetings on the contents embodied in the material.
Job Requirements
What are we looking for? The basics
- Master’s degree in Literatures, Communications, Journalism, Health Education, or related fields with six (6) years of demonstrated experience
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Literatures, Communications, Journalism, Health Education, or related fields with eight (8) years of demonstrated experience
What would get us excited?
- Proficient in MS office applications and market research and analysis tools
- Proficient in English and Amharic languages, both written and verbal communication
