Roles and Responsibilities

  • Working with facility PHEM coordinators and in-consultation with Regional COVID 19 Surveillance Coordinators,
  • Implement scenario-based contact tracing of identified cases based on local level of transmission as well as quarantine and monitoring of potential contacts
  • Conduct active case search, Community Based Surveillance (CBS) and targeted household level surveillance
  • Coordinate reception from all potential sources and verification as a member of facility rapid response team
  • Implement targeted Covid-19 testing in the health facilities
  • Map high-risk / vulnerable populations
  • Strengthen Home Based Isolation and Care (HBIC) follow up team
  • Support a referral linkage from the community to the health facility
  • Support PHEM unit in public and private health facilities they are assigned to work
  • Ensure appropriate collection, storage and transportation of respiratory samples collected for different testing reasons
  • Compile facility-based data on Covid-19 and enter in to data base
  • Support school surveillance
  • Prepare and submit weekly surveillance report, monthly report and quarterly report as required by the donor
  • Provide activity reports to respective Regional COVID 19 Surveillance Coordinator as advised by the project team

Employment type –Full time one-year contract with a possibility of renewal

Line of responsibility – the surveillance officers will be responsible to the Regional COVID 19 Surveillance Coordinator

Qualification and work experience

Required Qualification and work experience

  • MPH or MSc in health and biomedical science fields and
  • 1-2 years of work experience in health surveillance systems

Desired Qualification and work experience

  • Very good English verbal and written communication skills
  • Very good team work and facilitation skills
