Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Covid-19 surveillance coordinators and officers in the selected sites
  • Build the capacity of Covid-19 surveillance coordinators and officers
  • Supervise, monitor and evaluate day-to day Covid-19 surveillance activities
  • Collect Covid-19 surveillance activity report from Covid-19 surveillance coordinators and officers and submit compiles reports to the project director
  • Liaison communication between the project director with Covid-19 surveillance coordinators and officers
  • Identify challenges in the implementation of the project and provide solutions
  • Working with key partners, Senior Covid-19 surveillance coordinators and Covid-19 surveillance officers, lead all Covid-19 surveillance activities
  • Collect and compile Covid-19 surveillance data and submit to the project director through various platforms
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor

Employment type – Full time one-year contract with a possibility of renewal

Line of responsibility – The senior surveillance officers will be responsible to the Project Director

Job Requirements

Qualification and Work Experience

Required Qualification and work experience

  • A minimum of MPH/MSc degree in General Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Informatics or other related field or Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited and recognized academic institution
  • A minimum of six years of experience in surveillance related work
  • Prior work experience in Covid-19 Surveillance is highly recommend
  • Proven experience of conducting trainings, supervision, and mentorship is a must

Desired Qualification and work experience

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, independence, meticulous attention to details, great team working skills, excellent analytical skills, excellent time management
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Extensive in country travel experience to regions is highly recommended
