ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 11 Regional Offices, 34 Zonal Branches and 131 District/Woreda Branches, 599 Woreda Red Cross Committee and 5871 Kebele Red Cross committees.

Job Purpose:

 The Finance Officer will provide support to the Regional Finance and Admin Head in all aspects of financial management for Austrian Red Cross (AutRC) funded projects. This includes support in the day-to-day management of finances in applicable systems and adherence to policies and procedures consistent with the statutory requirements.

 Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate accounting, authorizations, and internal control procedures are met for all payments.
  • Review and check the completeness and accuracy of monthly financial reports and supporting documents submitted by projects.
  • Organize monthly document expenditure vouchers and supporting documents chronologically and perform bookings in the organization’s accounting system.
  • Scan/copy all the vouchers and rename all the scanned documents according to its booking key (number).
  • Work closely with ERCS HQ and branch accountants to provide support when needed.
  • Meet internal reporting deadlines and communicate with ERCS and project accountants to deliver reports /financial documents in a timely manner.
  • support in the preparation of financial reports as required.
  • Manage cash flow to country office and projects.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support as required.
  • Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities assigned by the line manager.

Reporting to: - Regional Finance and Administration Head, Austrian Red Cross in Ethiopia

Terms of employment: Contract for one year after probationary period 

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • MA or BA in Finance & Accounting.

Work Experience:

  • 4/6 years work experience in finance (NGO experience will be an added value)
  • Result oriented and team player
  • Excellent at computer skills: Microsoft Offices and Accounting software
  • Proficiency of English and Amharic in speaking and writing.
