INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY

Position:    Center Manager- Strengthening Conflict-Displaced IDPs Women and Girls’ Capacity (Contingent upon Funding Opportunity)

Contract:   Six Months with Possibility of Extension

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Women & Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS) in Mekelle and Shire towns. The WGSSS will have 3 sections (A breast feeding corner, counseling room and a room to offer multi sectoral service provision)

Principal Responsibilities

Key Result # 1 – Operational support of WGSS

  1. Ensures that the WGSS centers, rooms and grounds are well-maintained and functional;
  2. Supports WGSS activities in all logistical and administrative aspects;
  3. Maintains smooth flow of needed supplies, fuel for generators, teaching materials, etc.;
  4. Ensures that all equipment (videos, generators, etc.) are functional and in good repair;
  5. Implements all administrative activities relative to the WGSS (orders, insurance, maintenance and repair contracts, etc.)
  6. Ensure supervision and coaching for WGSS case workers working with women survivors of GBV and those at risk beneficiaries
  7. Ensures the creation and implementation of standard operating procedures relevant to the use of the WGSS;
  8. Maintains a regular schedule for the use of the WGSS by different actors within the project (counseling sessions, group activities, talks and discussions, etc.);
  9. Meets regularly with other project staff to solicit their feedback/inputs on the running of the WGSS;
  10. Solicits regular feedback from users to identify and address any problems related to their experience with the WGSS
  11. Ensures that all WGSS staff, beneficiaries, and visitors adhere to FH policies on safeguarding and security
  12.  Adopts a multi-sectoral approach within the center through a referral system
  13. Provides an overall supervision of and support to staff;
  14. Represent the WGSS;
  15. Liaise with Project Coordinator and/or Assistant Project Coordinator;
  16. Consolidate monthly reports;
  17. Monitor activities in the WGSS; and
  18. Coordinate with other relevant sectors, as needed

Key Result # 2 – Maintain linkages with partners

  1. Develops and ensures the proper application of referral and counter-referral protocols with the neighboring International Organization for Migration (IOM) health facility, UNFPA and organizations for reporting of SGBV incidents to the authorities;
  2. Ensures secure transport and accompaniment of women and girls referred to nearby health facilities as needed;
  3. Conducts regular visits with local partners (UNFPA, IOM, authorities, etc.) to maintain smooth relationships;

Key Result # 3 – Reporting and Planning

  1. Ensures that records of services and activities are kept and reported to project leadership per standard operating procedures;
  2. Ensures that all client information is kept in a secure manner to ensure confidentiality;
  3. Reports any violations of FH safeguarding or security policies to the appropriate individuals;
  4. Participates in regular planning, monitoring, and evaluation meetings as requested by project leadership;

Education and Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Education/Health or relevant field of study with a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Prior experience in an International NGO setting is preferred.
