Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Research & Development and Quality Control 

• Quality Control of product manufactured by Production.                       
• Assistance with Quality Control and trouble-shooting in the Production Department.                    
• Render assistance to the Sales Department.                  
• Evaluation of alternate / new raw materials, competitor's products and reformulate existing products with improved cost / performance characteristics.                                      
• Research and Development for new and existing products.                   
• Including the driving and maintenance of the Laboratory aspects of the Product Creation Process.                     
• Implementation and Control of Housekeeping and Safety Standards in accordance with current legislation and company requirements, in the Laboratory.            
• Liaison with the Production Department on matters concerning Production.                     
• Training and Development of laboratory staff.                          
• Ensure all mixtures and solutions are in line with Corporate standards
• Ensure that test results and processes are documented correctly
• Ensure close information exchange with other Laboratory staff, Factory and Technical.
• Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Analyse the physical and chemical characteristics of internal R&D and customer concrete raw materials.
• Manage the concrete mix trails.
• Manage the laboratory development of cementations products.
• Create and keep up to date a Material Safety Data Sheets for all local products.
• Maintain the laboratory equipment, samples and records in a clean and orderly manner according to laid down procedures.
• Prepare samples for customers.
• Prepare regular and periodic plans in relation to product testing and analysis.
• Assist the R&D Manager in all related matters.

• Ensure the provision and maintenance of a safe work environment.

General            

• Undertakes such additional duties which may from time to time be assigned to the Employee in the discharge of his / her duties.                    
• To ensure that a correct and proper image of the Company is maintained at all times.

Education and experience

• Master’s degree in Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field with two (2) years of relevant work experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field with four (4) years of relevant work experience
• Exposure with similar working environment is desirable.
• Experience in manufacturing company is required. 

Special requirements

• Regular and on time attendance
• Will be required to work overtime
• Overseas travel may be required.
