Currently, our business unit Dereja is undertaking projects in tackling the issue of youth unemployment. Dereja is a pioneer in establishing Career Center services in Higher Education Institutions, organizing regional and national job fairs and design and deliver employability skills training for fresh graduates. Thus, Dereja is looking for a qualified Client Relation Officer that will lead the Employers Relations unit. 

Job Summary:

The Client Relation Officer will have the overall responsibility to report to the Program Director. This includes providing comprehensive services and information for our employers. Design strategies and methods for employment opportunities for fresh graduates in Addis and the regions. Maintain and foster a relationship with existing and new employers, thus working directly with the HR delivery and Ethiojobs team. Develop a clear database/CRM system for accurate information and track progress and impacts. 

Detail Responsibilities:

Database Management:

  • Identify key employers for fresh graduates and managing and updating Employers database with accurate information
  • Develop a clear database system for various stakeholders
  • Track and record job openings for fresh graduates or entry-level positions
  • Develop strategies to track impact assessment
  • Follow up and report assessment

Customer Relation Management:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with key customers
  • Manage the overall collaboration with various stakeholders in relation to job placement for fresh graduates
  • Building a relationship and communicating with the Employer to provide an employment opportunity
  • Overseeing the relationship with customers handled by the team.
  • Resolving customer complaints quickly and efficiently
  • Keeping customers updated on the latest services and events undertaken by Dereja

Marketing and Branding

  • Design tools and strategies to attract employers to give opportunities for talented fresh graduates
  • Design strategies to promote the Dereja services for employers
  • Create or use different platforms to raise awareness about the benefit of hiring fresh graduates, human capital development and promoting decent and fulfilling job opportunities
  • Organize/ take lead on various events organized by Dereja such as Job fairs, career week programs, Dereja Academy program, HR conferences and forums for existing and new employers to be benefited

Project Management:

  • Develop and conduct a survey to conduct need assessments from employers
  • Traveling to different regions to assess and identify SMEs,
  • Oversee the projects undertaken by the Employer's relations unit and report weekly to the Program Director
  • Support the Dereja various programs by identifying right employers and various stakeholders
  • Effectively represent Dereja and Dereja activities in relation to maintaining and building a relationship with employers and various stakeholders
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation team by developing a proper database system for impact assessment 

Duration of Employment    One year 

Job Requirements

  • Broad knowledge and proven experience in customer service
  • Passionate to work on youth development projects especially on employment and employability
  • General technical industry knowledge and basic know-how on the unemployment challenges faced in Ethiopia
  • Computer proficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic
  • Basic problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Able to perform in a tight schedule
  • Ability to lead and work with a team
  • Ability to follow up
  • Takes initiative, responsible, good time management and organization skills
  • Flexibility and tolerance

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in any natural or social science field with a maximum of 4- or 5-years experience working in customer services or related projects or industry.
