Job Description

Humedicae.V is German based International NGO registered in Ethiopia in February 2010. Currently, it is looking for a qualified Livelihood Officer for its Jigjiga FSP Project.

Job Summary:

Livelihood Officer provides essential support to the FSP project in Jigjiga, working with the Project Officer and other team members to achieve project success. He/She is responsible for the overall technical works of the project management-implementation planning, monitoring projects and follow up and report activities of the project to achieve the planned objectives. 

Basic Functions

  • Prepare implementation plan as per the signed project proposal and agreement with the FSP team.
  • Support the project officer in the preparations of project’s monthly, quarterly and annual or other ad-hoc reports
  • Participate on project targets economic empowerment (assess their need, recommend for appropriate support, facilitate capacity building events for the target community and provide training as per the project plan)
  • Plan beneficiaries period visit in their homes, work places etc. and support their activities
  • Facilitate beneficiary support and sustainable local support with local administration stakeholders of relevant bureaus and offices
  • Support the project officer to ensure quality of the project deliverables by conducting continuous monitoring and follow ups to the project activities
  • Ensure that safety and security of the target beneficiaries are kept as per the code of conduct of humedica
  • Properly manage the beneficiaries’ data, update at least quarterly and send it to the country office.
  • Organize IGA groups based on their business preference, prepare business plan and follow up their activities.
  • Arrange and conduct trainings that support beneficiaries especially for IGA groups.
  • Ensures that all purchases are effected as per the purchase guidelines and procedures of humedicae.V Ethiopia
  • Review and follow up project budget utilization with other country office staff
  • Report project accomplishments as per the objectives and related activities monthly, quarterly, annually and as required in the interim period.
  • Perform other duties when assigned by immediate supervisor

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Qualification: BA degree in Sociology, Economics, business Management, Management or any other related social science field of study
  • Required Experience: a minimum of four years’ experience (Experience in development and humanitarian organization or INGO/NGOis desirable), experience on livelihood and economic empowerment, education, health, and community development related
  • Language skills: Very good English and Somali languages speaking and writing skill
  • Other Skills: Very good report writing, communication skill, empathy and patience
  • Interpersonal Skills requirements: Ability to work harmoniously with the team.
