FH ETHIOPIA IMMEDIATE VACANCY

SECOND TIME NOTICE

FH Ethiopia would like to invite potential candidates to apply on the following position for Tigray Emergency Response JEOP.

Position title: Commodity Risk & Compliance Officer (5 Positions)

Duration of contract:  One year Contract

Basic Responsibilities:     

  1. Monitor food aid resources in all FH warehouses and ensure the commodities are stored in line with Donor/FH standard.
  2. Support and guide the field commodity teams in the proper management of food aid resources in line with the FH commodity management guide.
  3. Ensures that all warehouses are keeping proper warehousing standards set by Donor/FH.
  4. Monthly inspect all warehouses, take physical inventory and forward all findings to the JEOP Manager.
  5. Ensures that the warehouses have all required documents in their shelf and properly kept.
  6. Ensure an adequate filing system is in place in all warehouses and easy to access them when required.
  7. When new warehouse staff is hired give on the job training and familiarize FH’s objective in the way managing food aid commodities. 
  8. Receives and compiles distribution reports from Project Offices and forward compiled report to the head office
  9. Ensure an adequate filing system is in place in all warehouses and easy to access them when required.
  10. Receive weekly dispatch report from FH PDPs and summarize it and forward the summary to CMC in weekly bases
  11. Follow up that the allocated foods have arrived in each distribution site and necessary food packages are in place before projects call beneficiaries for distribution.  
  12. Assess warehouses when a new site is opened for distribution and ensure the necessary warehouse material is available before commodities arrival in the warehouse.

SAFETY AND SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security policy of FH. Lapses in safe conduct can jeopardize the health and welfare of all staff.
  • Every FHE staff member has an obligation to learn and understand the security situation where they are located.
  • Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security. This includes, but not limited to, personal safety, road safety, etc.

GENDER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide adequate time to staff to participate in gender sensitivity workshops and related events.
  • Through observation, interviews, and spot-checks, ensure that the staff planning, Implementation, monitoring and Evaluation process is gender sensitive.
  • Facilitate open and regular discussions with staff on about the work environment, policies, and values convenient to gender issues.

Job Requirements

  • BA Degree in Accounting or any other related field of study.
  • Computer literate, Interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience preferably in an NGO setting is an added advantage.
  • Enthusiasm about the Heartbeat of FHE
  • Certification in USAID Rules and Regulations is an added advantage
