Currently, in the financial support of LO Norway; CETU has been implementing a project entitled “combating modern child slavery in Ethiopia.” The overall aim of the project is to contribute the eradication of forced, child labour and child trafficking in Ethiopia.

CETU is seeking a multi skilled and highly capable project coordinator

The project coordinator will be responsible for planning, overseeing and leading project activities from ideation through to completion.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Responsibility #1: Program Planning, Implementation and Monitoring

• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the operations of the project;
• Submits annual plans as per established schedules to all CETU high level, department (Social Affairs) and branch project officers;
• Conducts studies and develops strategies for project implementation;
• In collaboration with the Programs Managers (department) and finance officer prepares annual budget based on project proposal and ensures compliance with donors requirements.
• Promotes CETU activities in the project areas;
• Initiates budget requests in accordance with the budget approved for the project and monitors the appropriateness of budget utilization;
• Organizes the implementation process of the set targets;
• Ensures that project operations are carried out in accordance with CETU policies and procedures;
• As leader of the project team, ensures that project staff have updated monthly and quarterly and annually implementation plans.
• To monitor social, economic and political developments especially with regards to labor situation and its impact on the trade union movement.

Job Responsibility #2

• Manages, supervises, leads guides and supports staff under her/his supervision.

Job Responsibility #3: Networking, Learning and Reporting

• Establishes and maintains formal and informal communication mechanisms with government, community partners, donors and other stakeholders;
• Ensures that reports are prepared and submitted to concerned parties, to CETU, donors, counterparts, on time and in a professional manner.

Job Responsibility #4:

• Perform other duties as assigned by Project Manager (Social Affairs Department).

Job Requirement

EDUCATION/TRAINING

• MA or BA in Psychology, Sociology Economics and social works.

EXPERIENCE

• 5/7 years relevant work experience.

TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS

• Proficiency in verbal and written English, proposal development, strategic and operational planning, monitoring and evaluation, report writing;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
