Job purpose: The finance officer is responsible for handling CETU Combating Modern Slavery project accounts, ensure proper filing and recording of the project transactions and prepare CETU Combating Modern Slavery project financial reports.

Key responsibilities:-

• He/she supports the project manager and coordinator in managing the CETU Combating Modern Slavery project.
• Ensure proper management of project budget, transactions and reporting closely work with the project manager and officers, Finance and Administration Departments of CETU.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
• Follow up outstanding accounts, travel advances, settlement of debtors and creditors
• Ensure complete data record journals, coding of accounts using appropriate software
• Prepare payment requests as per the project budget breakdown
• Ensure compliance with Lo Norway/CETU financial predicament and human resource procedures
• Ensure back up is taken on financial operating software such as Peachtree, QuickBooks and kept in safe place.

Job Requirement

• BA degree in Accounting.
• 5 (Five) years of work experience as project accountant.
• Solid experience in preparing internal and external financial reports.
• Experience in large scale donor funded projects.
• Preferable in on NGO environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft word, Excel & accounting software (Peachtree accounting, quick book)
• Strong financial acumen with strong knowledge of General accounting concepts, principles and standard.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
