Job Summery

The procurement Manager's responsibilities include strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers, to discover the best ways to cut procurement expenses so that the company can invest in growth and people.

Role/Task

  • Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
  • Prepare cost analyses
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
  • Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
  • Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
  • Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
  • Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery
  • Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
  • Evaluate offers from supplier and prepare negotiations for better prices / conditions
  • Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
  • Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
  • Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
  • Liaise with transportation companies, customs offices, clearing agents, and banks

Job Requirements

Competences & Skills

  • Proven working experience as a Procurement Manager, Procurement Officer or Head of Procurement
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
  • Talent in negotiations and networking
  • Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • BA degree in Supply chain management, Logistics or Business administration
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Familiarity with MS Excel
  • Knowledge of market research
  • Solid organizational skills
  • BSc in Logistics, BA in Business Administration or relevant field
  • Work experience in similar roles
  • Availability to short transfer for ordinary tasks and internal training
  • Fluent in English
