INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY

FH Ethiopia would like to invite potential candidates to apply on the following position for Tigray Emergency Response JEOP.

Position title: JEOP Food Aid Coordinator 

Duration of contract: One year Contract

Basic Responsibilities:     

Key Result #1- Planning activities    

  1. In the beginning of the program period make sure all project staff are aware of JEOP commodity minimum standards, and formats at project.
  2. Ensure adequate filing system of all reports and make them accessible to use by the department staff. Check and confirm availability of adequate warehouses space in each distribution sites
  3. Participate in coordination meetings related to JEOP.
  4. Capacitate Project staffs & government counterparts on JEOP program implementation guidelines, monitoring and reporting.
  5. Engage in budget and activity planning with JEOP manager.
  6. Submit weekly food distribution schedule to CRS.

Key Result #1- Program Implementation   

  1. Regularly coordinate and guide commodity dispatchers and store keepers, to properly follow procedures and on timely action.
  2. Advise respective projects staff ahead of the food commodities movement starts.
  3. Ensure the ongoing distribution is as per the given food ration/person.
  4. Following each round commodity allocation provide FDP level JEOP commodity dispatch to CRS, FHE logistics and FHE dispatcher at Mekelle.
  5. Check the commodity transport payments prepared by clerk for approval of supervisor and director.  

Key Result #1- program Monitoring & Evaluation    

  • Based on the result of post distribution monitoring report, record change in the food security status of households.

Key Result #1- Reporting    

  1. Send weekly food dispatch and distribution basically to CRS and JEOP manager.
  2. Prepare and send commodity distribution report as per the format sent from CRS.
  3. Handle any additional task given from DRRP Department.

SAFETY AND SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Encourages compliance of Safety and Security principles and policies of the organization by all staffs;
  • Visiting project Offices and operational areas periodically to meet staff and making sure that all staff members are aware of the safety and security procedures;
  • Explains to staffs the reasoning behind the organization’s safety and security policies and procedures;

GENDER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide adequate time to staff to participate in gender sensitivity workshops and related events.
  • Through observation, interviews, and spot-checks, ensure that the staff planning, Implementation, monitoring and Evaluation process is gender sensitive.
  • Facilitate open and regular discussions with staff on about the work environment, policies, and values convenient to gender issues.

Job Requirements

  • BA Degree in Agriculture or in other related field of study.
  • Computer literate, Interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience preferably in an NGO setting is an added advantage.
  • Enthusiasm about the Heartbeat of FHE
