INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY

FH Ethiopia would like to invite potential candidates to apply on the following position for Tigray Emergency Response JEOP.

Position title: Early Warning & Emergency Coordinator

Duration of contract: One year Contract

Basic Responsibilities:     

Key Result #1 –Coordination and implementation 

  1. Responsible for compiling Early Warning reports, data collection in coordination with DFSA DME project staffs.
  2. Take part in ongoing multi agency team assessment at regional level with respective office regional DPFSCO.
  3. Follow up the national targeting guideline and coordinate training with all JEOP projects.
  4. Attend coordination meeting representing JEOP early warning technical working group at CRS and update to DRRP director.
  5. Provides compliance support and direction and plans, implements and conducts program to train Managers and Employees in Environmental compliance requirements and practices.

Key Result #2 – Reporting, Monitoring and evaluation

  1. Monitor and evaluate projects on early warning report produced, field data collection and capacity building programs.
  2. Follow up the weekly SMS message transfer to CRS every week and compile Early Warning monthly, quarterly and annual reports produced to donors and CRS.
  3. Compile monthly and quarterly Early Warning reports that come from FHE and ORDA projects.
  4. Receive and compile fast on set hazards and other reports as required from all ORDA and FHE projects and submit to DRRP director.

Coordinate and Work closely with DME, JEOP head office staffs about program and Early Warning reports generated and other Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly reports that will be submitted to CRS and donors.SAFETY AND SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security policy of FH. Lapses in safe conduct can jeopardize the health and welfare of all staff.
  • Every FHE staff member has an obligation to learn and understand the security situation where they are located.
  • Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security. This includes, but not limited to, personal safety, road safety, etc.

GENDER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide adequate time to staff to participate in gender sensitivity workshops and related events.
  • Through observation, interviews, and spot-checks, ensure that the staff planning, Implementation, monitoring and Evaluation process is gender sensitive.
  • Facilitate open and regular discussions with staff on about the work environment, policies, and values convenient to gender issues.

Job Requirements

  • BA Degree in Agriculture, Agriculture Extension or in other related field of study.
  • Computer literate, Interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant work experience preferably in an NGO setting is an added advantage.
  • Enthusiasm about the Heartbeat of FHE
  • Strong computer skill and knowledge in the area of MS word, MS Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint and email communication.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. 
  • Knowledge of USAID Rules and Regulations.
  • High level of initiative taking.
