Job Description

Organizational Setting 

Program Review is a section of EBS TV Legal Department. It contributes to the station as a gate keeping or damage preventive platform and, facilitating smooth and confident work environment by creating legal awareness with in the creative and production crew. Freedom of expression being a basic right it is also not an absolute right; it has its own limitations accordingly respecting media Related Legislations and Journalistic Ethics happens to be the focus area of this section.

Responsibilities

  • Under the overall supervision of the Legal department head and direct accountability to the CEO, the obligatory will be responsible of the following duties:
  •  Review program content Vis-à-vis, The Legal frame, public morality, and the company interest    then makes a quick report and Suggestion.
  • Provides legal advice to production team regarding contents also make suggestions.
  • Check the legality of Advertisement and Its supporting documents attached: also provide legal Advice depending the case. Furthermore, find possible suggestion to have the advertisement ready for broadcast.  
  • Supports the Legal Department with workload, including drafting letters, editing contracts and other tasks assigned.

Basic principles

  •  Confidentiality: the department requests a very strict compliance of confidentiality

  • Whole rounded knowledge of active Media laws and relevant laws to the area (proclamations, Regulations, Directives, Editorial policy, rules) is expected. 
  • Concept understanding and Issue framing capacity.
  • observing deadlines and ability to work under pressure;
  • Identifies prior activities; adjusts priorities as required; allocates appropriate amount of time and attention for completing work; foresees and analyzes risks when reviewing.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals; places organizational agenda before personal agenda; supports and acts in accordance with final group decision, even when such decisions may not entirely reflect own position;
  • Shows pride in work and achievements; is motivated by professional rather than personal concerns; Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges; Remains calm in stressful situations. Takes responsibility for incorporating gender perspectives and ensuring the equal participation of women and men in all areas of work.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • University degree (LLB) in Law.
  • 0-2 years relevant experience on similar activities.  
  • Good communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Excellent computer skills on MS Office
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
