The Data Coordinator based in Adama will collect, enter, clean, and manage data from various data sources, mainly program beneficiaries. Under the supervision of the Senior Research Manager and Program Officer, the Data Coordinators will ensure accurate and timely data collection, entry at regional level and cleaning of program and research data into the appropriate database system. He/she will also manage child protection aspects of the program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the data collection and entry of project beneficiaries and mentors at regional level.
- Undertake data collection among beneficiaries and mentors, ensuring quality and accurate data and ensuring safeguarding of all project affiliates.
- Ensure databases are complete, up to date and accurate, including registration data, data from attendance at safe spaces, performance data for each girl, and attendance data from mentors.
- Manage databases of the Population Council at regional level including all MIS databases.
- Manage receipt and secure storage of MIS documents, as per the organization’s policy, ensuring no breaches of confidentiality or data security.
- Enter data on information collected through routine monitoring and MIS tools.
- Record the number of cases/records entered and the time spent completing tasks.
- Ensure accuracy of all data recorded by comparing the data entered with source documents and resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
- Verify, merge and backup data and feed updated database for HQ research staff.
- Respond to inquiries regarding entered data as requested.
- Ensure adherence to ethical guidelines, confidentiality of the information and secure storage of data.
- Support administrative functions and child protection procedures of the regional offices as requested by Program Officers and Project Officers.
- Support in identifying and liaising on child protection cases at the regional level.
- Other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of bachelor’s degree level education with experience in data collection, survey administration and data entry.
- Fluent in English, Oromiffa and Amharic.
- Ability to operate various data entry programs such as EPI-Data, EPI-Info and ACCESS.
- Able to work effectively, efficiently and in a concentrated manner.
- Careful attention to detail and able to manage data in an organized and systematic manner.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
