We are looking for a Grants and Contracts Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring prime contract compliance and managing all grants under contract for USAID funded Transform WASH Activity Project.

Your KPIs

  • Accounting String at Sub recipient level.
  • IPSAS compliance requirement from the perspective of SUBs, and support on the conversion.
  • Smooth partnership and responsiveness.
  • Number of specific monitoring undertaken for partners.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure and assist sub recipients on preparation of financial statements produce and present with high quality, transparent and comparable financial information according to globally-accepted set of accounting standards and interpretations (IPSAS),
  • Facilitate, participate in internal and external audits including GIA Audits & lead follow up actions to improve systems of internal controls and donor compliances which include VAT, terrorism check reporting requirements.
  • Design a system to track cost share reporting by implementing partners to submit the consolidated reports.
  • Track expenses with further granularity to help reporting for all sub recipients to accounting string,
  • Support the Grants and Contracts Manager in actively managing and monitoring sub awards to ensure high quality reporting and timely contract deliverables.
  • Conduct financial report review for sub awardees under USAID transform WASH project.
  • Lead capacity building initiatives, to help Sub recipients remain compliant and technically capable to discharge due diligence, comply with global regulations and reduce fraud risks through a single platform.
  • Oversee report review for compliance with terms and conditions and coordinating the timely scheduling of cash disbursements.
  • Support the development of project reports according to PSI and donor requirements.
  • Conduct pre award assessment for sub awardees
  • Conduct quarterly grant monitoring visit for Sub awardees under Transform WASH project
  • Prepare VAT and periodic cost share reports for USAID Transform WASH project.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and management of PSI/Ethiopia.

Job Requirements

What are we looking for? The basics

  • Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management, Accounting, Business Administration or related fields with five (5) years of demonstrated experience

What would get us excited?

  • Demonstrated experience in Grants Management in similar sized organizations, preferably within USAID projects and sub-granting requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in leading sub partners, sub-contractors, and/or grants under contract.
  • In-depth knowledge of grant and contract management
  • Understanding of systems audit and articulating clear practical recommendations
  • Understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Good personal organizational skills
  • Ability to work within a multicultural setting
  • Willing to travel within and outside the region
