Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop a program Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) framework with indicators for output, outcome and impact and, facilitate development of a strategy that informs effective program delivery by relevant program staff in Bale Zone, Ethiopia
  • Develop and implement comprehensive MEAL system for ongoing and future projects in line with agreed project proposals / LFAs
  • Lead and undertake baseline, mid-term, end evaluation and other need based reviews / evaluation of ongoing project.  
  • Assist team in preparing monthly, quarterly and other need based project reports  
  • Document best practices and lesson learned to inform project implementation advocacy and policy 
  • Build capacity of staff and partners on M&E through formal and informal means
  • Coordinate facilitation of learning between project officers and government partners to strengthen M&E  
  • Ensure priority areas such as advocacy and gender equality are reflected and integrated into all Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Mechanisms

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATION & EXPEREINCE

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in an area of Public health, Statistics, Economics, Social development or equivalent.
  • Recommended a minimum of five years, among these three years NGO experience in a MEA role in both emergency and development contexts, preferably with solid experience in more than one of the following priority sectors: health and nutrition, and emergencies
  • Good leadership, coordination and management experience.
  • Knowledge of latest health related technical guidelines and standards in emergency nutrition, health and WASH.
  • Experience in community based management of malnutrition (CMAM) and primary health care (PHC).
  • Demonstrated ability for leadership and independent decision making 
  • Strong interpersonal skills & excellent team player.
  • Willingness and ability to work in hardship environment.
  • Cultural and gender sensitivity
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Afan Oromo (advantageous )
