Who We Are

SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is an International Non-governmental organization and a member of SOS Children’s Villages International Federation. We started our humanitarian work in Ethiopia with the opening of our first Village in Mekelle, Northern part of Ethiopia in 1974. Since then, we have expanded our programs to different regions where there are significant needs for intervention and where we believe we can work in partnership with all relevant actors to bring sustainable positive outcomes for children’s and young people.

We provide Family-like Care and Social Services for vulnerable families through our Family Strengthening Projects. Currently, we operate in seven locations; Addis Ababa, Bahir Dar, Mekelle, Jimma, Harar, Hawassa and Gode with additional satellite projects in each Region and the National Office in Addis Ababa. 

Today, we have grown significantly to meet the persistent challenges that confront Ethiopian children who have lost parental care and those that are at risk of losing their parental care. Working in close collaboration with international donors, local government and community based organizations across seven program locations; we aspire that every child grows up with love, respect and security.

Objective of the tender

The Organization intends to do:

1. Construction of G+1 Guard House;
2. Construction and Erection of remote controlled Main Entrance Gate.

Interested contractors are required to make a non-refundable payment of 1,000 ETB to SOS Children’s Villages, Ethiopia, account name: SOS KDI, Bank: Commercial Bank Of Ethiopia, account number: 1000000971417 and send the payment confirmation slip to: National.Office@sos-ethiopia.org

(Please use “National Office Maintenance and Repair Works” as the subject line of your email). Upon receipt of the payment confirmation and verification, you will receive the tender package. The deposit slip must also be attached to the tender package as the first page, as part of the requirement for the contractor to be considered when submitting your tender (technical and financial documents). Tender package can be obtained in hard copy at the SOS National Office, House Number 2/229, Namibia Street K. 03/05 Addis Ababa.

Job Requirements

Only Contractors belonging to Categories/ from Grade 4 to 6, Building Contractors, of the classifications of the Ministry of Public Works Ethiopia and having a previous experience with such kind of works are allowed to tender, those contractor who are fulfill the requirements automatically rejected. Temporary joint ventures will not be taken into consideration.

The bidders must comply with all the instructions, terms and conditions and ensure that all forms required are properly completed and submitted.

NB. Both the Financial proposal and technical proposal should be done and delivered separately in sealed envelope. The Financial Offers, to be submitted at the same time of the Technical and Qualification documents, shall be dispatched or delivered in a single, separated and sealed envelope to the following address

The deadline for the submission will be Tuesday June 21st, 2021, 12 pm (Midnight) Ethiopia time. All Financial Offers and Qualification documents received after the deadline time will be rejected. The bid can be opened on June 23, 2021 from 1pm-2pm.

Carefully read the instructions before completing the application forms and questionnaire. Note that submission of false information will lead to automatic disqualification.
