Purpose statement

• Under direction of the Country EHS Head, the Health and Safety Officer specifically seeks to ensure proper application of the Wilmar’s policies, instructions and procedures on matters of employees' health, safety and well-being in order to contribute positively to productivity, ensure a healthy
• working environment for staff through the observance of best practices in health and well-being on daily basis.
• Supports the departments and management in the EHS Policy and standards implementation on daily basis
• Promote good health, safety and environmental practices throughout Repi activities to embed safety cultures
• Support operational management in EHS implementation by providing professional expertise, Incident prevention & investigation and hazards identification; conducting JSA, Risk assessment, inspections, safety walk, safety meeting and auditing with recommendation/interventions.
• Checking and ensuring proper function & compliance of Canteen, Clinic services, first aid services, emergency eye wash stations, and etc.
• Identifying, planning and deliver health and safety induction, trainings/education and on job awareness creations and daily safety talk/toolbox
• Ensure standards and procedures implementation, reviewing periodically and conducting audit to ensure EHS Systems. 
• Coordinate incident investigation, maintain accident statistics, analyses trends, and propose and take remedial action plan.
• Generate & compile regulatory and other Wilmar reports including monthly incident statistics and Enablon online platform for reporting of EHS events & environmental metrics including local to authority
• Check all EHS procedures are followed for all non/work related incidents & all relevant forms are appropriately filled & reported offline & online
• Provides Safety support and advice, including supervision on preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start up activities. 
• Engage employees in appropriate programs to create and maintain individual and collective responsible EHS culture.
• Be involved in EHS visits/walk and conduct regular inspections, conducting inventory of safety materials (PPEs, emergency eye washes & showers, safety signages, first aid kits, fire equipment, assembly points, designated pedestrian walkways, emergency equipment/siren, lighting & etc) & kept updated and hazard identification and maintaining records hazards master sheets, identified/reported hazards are controlled/addressed in order to achieve total safety in the work place.
• Ensure High risk works (HRW) safety standards are well communicated and All permits systems are followed and implemented correctly.
• Act actively as team in emergency preparedness and Response and also ensure Firefighting equipment are serviced and updated.
• Make sure drinking water and waste water/effluents are tested regularly and are as per the local and Wilmar requirements.
• Closely following gender and reproductive health services related issues and reporting any sexual harassment incident/complaint immediately.
• Ensure implementation of traffic safety, PPE, housekeeping & waste management at all levels and other task assigned to you by dept.

Job Requirements

Specification:

• BSc Degree in Occupational Health, safety (OSH) or related fields.
• Minimum 2 years’ experiences in manufacturing/projects
• Working knowledge of the workplace Safety and Health standards and local OSH/EHS legislations.
• Knowledge of enforcement procedures, planning & delivering training, reporting & presentation using advanced excel, PowerPoint & outlook
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work as team and maintain effective work relationships, Good supervisory skills and also working under pressure
