VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

IMMEDIATE INTERNAL/EXTERNAL

About the Organization:

Vision Fund Micro Finance Institution (S.C) is established according to proclamation No. 40/96 to provide financial services to the productive poor in the rural and urban areas of Ethiopia. VisionFund is currently operating in four of the Regional States of the country.

The Institution is currently looking for internal candidates for Senor Ethics and Anti-Corruption Officer. The successful candidates will have skills and experience that meet the following requirements:

Major Responsibilities

  • Develops and disseminates corporate ethics statements, policies and supporting forms/acknowledgements.
  • Provides an internal review of other corporate policies to ensure corporate consistency and integration with the company's ethics philosophies. Integrates the corporate ethics message throughout the corporate culture.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of corporate ethics and conflict-of-interest training and conducts ethical decision-making training for senior management on ethics issues and avoiding conflicts of interest.
  • Promptly conducts investigations pursuant to complaints and allegations of ethical wrongdoing or conflicts of interest. Prepares written investigative reports as necessary.
  • In conjunction with legal counsel, conducts annual corporate governance audits to determine the state of the corporation and presents findings to superiors.
  • Corporate audits will include risk minimization with respect to issues that lend themselves to identity theft and the corporate mission of minimization of employee data required to be maintained by the organization.
  • Develops and maintains confidential procedures for the handling and processing of complaints and allegations. Provides processes for the confidential hearing of employee issues related to the ethics or conflicts.
  • Maintains an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of corporate governance requirements, compliance and reporting responsibilities, and related legal benchmarks from federal and state law.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Receive and verify reports on ethical violations in accordance with the rules and directives of the Institution and submit to the CEO recommendations on further investigation and measures to be taken, and follow up on the implementation of the same;
  • Report to Federal Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission, on the current state of the anti-corruption efforts, areas of concern to be prioritized for implementation and serious ethical violation, and make the CEO know the same immediately;
  • Carry out other duties related to ethical issues specifically given to it in accordance with the relevant laws and directives;

Job Requirements

Qualification and Technical Skill Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting, Business Management or any other relevant social science field from a recognized university.  
  • Minimum Five (5) years’ relevant experience; two (2) of which must be in the banking sector 

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • A high sense of integrity  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
  • Strong analytical , critical thinking and problem-solving skills  
  •  Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws, regulations,  policies, guidelines, procedures
