Job Description

World Vision Ethiopia (WVE) is an International Humanitarian Christian Organization whose objective is to provide holistic and integrated development and emergency response programs in the country. WVE Central Regional Office has an immediate opening for a person who fulfills the following qualifications.

Purpose of the position:

To provide an overall technical supports to WV's program planning, executions, monitoring, accountability, learning and transition processes in the region in line with the partnership as well as government strategies.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to APs in analysis of feasibilities of the infrastructure development works
  • Provide technical support to APs in reviewing drawings/designs, specifications and bill of quantities obtained from concerned government offices for technical compliance and engage on the same when executed at program and national office level
  • Provide technical support to APs in reviewing bid documents, engineering cost estimations, TOR for consultancy service purchase and engage on the same when executed at program and national office level
  • Oversee and advise APs on administering contracts through proper application of government civil work standards and manuals and signed contract agreement
  • Provide technical support to APs on regular site supervision and verification of take off sheets; undertake site supervision, review of take off sheet and prepare payment certificate to be effected at program office and national office level
  • Receive feedback from ADPs in writing on progress of the construction works, challenges and concerns encountered and advise the associate director on appropriate course of action in a timely manner
  • Oversee and ensure the timely handing over of completed constructions by APs to the user communities or the concerned government offices and ensure proper documentations for future reference
  • Plan, facilitate and conduct trainings on infrastructure development works for APs’ infrastructure facilitators and stakeholders on sustainability of infrastructure schemes;
  • Provide feedback and regular progress reports to the program office on infrastructure development works in the respective APs 
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements

  • Qualifications Required
  • Qualification required: BSc degree in Civil, Hydraulic, Irrigation, Water & Environ., and related field
  • Preferred: MSc degree in Civil, Hydraulic, Irrigation, Water & Environ., and related field
  • Work Experience: 2 – 4 years relevant work experience
  • Technical Training qualifications required/ Professional technical skill desired
  • Computer literate (Operate Ms Word, Ms excel and AutoCAD)  Motor driving license
  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational   
  • Working Environment / Conditions:
  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the Full time field-based position.
