Job Description

Research and Innovation manager role is to manage and land Brand and Categories NPD plan as well as develop and execute annual consumer research plan, market data analysis. The Research and Innovation Manager will have a pivot role to assist in 54 FMCG’s Brand growth through new product development and to be a consumer centric and data driven decision company. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop in coordination with CGO and Marketing Managers yearly NPD plan
  • Develop, monitor and report NPD process and Projects time line.
  • Lead new product development and land NPD plan on time in coordination with all department (Mainly Marketing, Procurement, Finance and Factories)
  • Gather insights and evaluate with Marketing Managers New Category/Product ideation to submit to management.
  • Develop, Implement and monitor Qualitative and Quantitative research to evaluate regularly brand performance (Brand awareness, TOM, Values…)
  • Run regular study to compile consumer insight on category and brand usage
  • Develop and implement retail audit research to evaluate brand performance vs competitors in the market

Job Requirements

COMPETENCIES:

  • Marketing experience of at least 3 to 5 years in FMCG on New Product Development & Market Research
  • Have been exposed to New product Development process from ideation to execution
  • Ability to follow up new product development, develop research methodology, questionnaires and execute
  • High level of energy and ability to motivate others;
  • Ability to negotiate and develop excellent relation with its peers and suppliers
  • In-depth understanding of Ethiopian consumers and habits
  • Team Player: Able to influence and work in multi-functional teams;
  • Initiative / Decision Making

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • MBA Degree graduate in Marketing and Business Management or Equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years in Marketing/FMCG
  • Proven Market New product Development and Research experience is a must .
