Job Description

Duties

• Maintain a database of media organizations and contacts within them.
• Manage the company’s or organization’s social media communications.
• Regularly meet with and conduct interviews with media personnel.
• Create and produce internal newsletters for the organization.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with journalists in multiple types of media outlets.
• Act as a spokesperson for the organization.
• Write, edit and distribute various types of content, including material for a website, press releases, marketing material and other types of content that take the message to the public.
• Manages social media communications.
• Prepare and manage the organization’s communication budget.
• Works towards maintain the good reputation of the company in the public
• Manages the company’s branding.
• Respond to media inquiries and perform media outreach to achieve brand placement in publications
• Educates staff members on communication processes.
• Track analytics and create reports detailing successes and failures of communications campaigns
• Ensure that all communications and marketing material aligns with brand standards
• Maintain digital media archives including photos and videos

Job Requirements

Key Skills

• Excellent communication skills in English, Afaan Oromoo and Amharic languages
• Must be a confident communicator and presenter
• Have a full understanding of characteristics of media and media relationships
• Self-motivated and creative
• Must be highly detail-oriented.
• Expert knowledge of the company’s mission statement and product and service offerings.

Required Qualification

• MA or BA in Communication, Journalism, Business or related fields
• Minimum of 5 years of experiences
• Prior working experience in Food industry is an advantage
