KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Provide leadership in the management of all emergency Supply Chain functions in for the Tigray Response
- Develop/implement the global policies, donor’s requirements while also complying with any country-specific regulations both SCI’s and government’s
- Lead the coordination of tracking deliveries of emergency supplies in any direction, and apply mitigation steps to avoid delays, disruptions, damage and loss.
- Lead in producing a quality logistics plan including the identification of necessary resources,
- Manage and support logistics staff including ensuring appropriate team structures, clear division of responsibilities, clear objectives, and management of performance
- Ensure that supplies are managed well and that the necessary services in use meets appropriateness, cost effectiveness and Value for Money (VfM) standards
- Provide advice and support to the Emergency Supply Chain Manager or senior management on logistics issues
- Be responsible for submitting timely reports on all aspects of procurement and KPI management
- Management of all Gift In Kind (GiK) in coordination with Award Management & Programme

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- BA degree in an area of Management or Supply Chain Management
- 8 years Significant prior INGO experience in procurement, within a complex/large scale country program and in emergency response/humanitarian environments
- Substantial experience in all technical areas of logistics in emergencies
- Experience of developing / implementing a complex logistics strategy to support different types of programs, and coordinating resources to meet the program objectives
- Experience of working in remote field bases with limited infrastructure
- Ability to synthesize and analyze complex information, and make clear, informed decisions
- Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities
- Ability to build positive & productive relationships quickly with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English with experience in managing multicultural teams
Desirable
- Technical experience/training in specific areas of logistics
- Technical experience/knowledge in specific types of humanitarian intervention eg Health, WASH, Food Security
