Job Description

Project –National STI survey

Directorate –under EPHI, HIV and TB directorate

Duration: two months

Required Number: 4

Salary: - 18,000

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and manage a nationally representative multisite complex survey
  • Carry out key survey activities at mission level such as coordinating, coaching and supervising, field team, ensuring the quality of data, conduct deep data cleaning, and qualitative data analysis, interpreting and reporting of findings
  • Maintain and monitor the data collection process and adjust the system to operational activities’ needs with continued support
  • Analysis, interpretation, management and ability to test and implement modifications and enhancements; and communicate and train staff on data collection, management, and analysis
  • Develop FGD and in-depth interview guide
  • Conduct direct supervision to the field staff at site level
  • Oversee daily site activities and sure that the study is conducted as the protocol guidelines
  • Prepare daily and weekly report and update the project progress to central office at EPHI
  • Supervise of the team and the daily activities at the assigned survey sites
  • Supervise the quality of the interview data collection work using quality check manual
  • Conduct data management and transmission
  • Collect qualitative data
  • Manage stocks at site level and order materials to be purchased or delivered from central (EPHI):

Job Requirements

  • MPH/MSc in the fields of Public Health and having of 4+ years demonstrated experiences in designing and executing qualitative and quantitative study and analyzing qualitative data, technical report and manuscript writing
  • Demonstrated experience in providing training on the qualitative research method
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting in-depth interview and focused group discussion
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative software such as Atlas. ti, NVivo, Open Code
  • Excellent data organization, programming, and communication skills are required, as is the ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Profound knowledge and experience in conducting a KAP survey, development of the survey tools, training research staff, conducting, supervising the survey and writing analytical reports as well as interpreting data and making recommendations
  • Experience in the area of STI/STD, HIV Key/priority population survey, and/or programmatic response
  • Demonstrated experience in providing training on the qualitative research method
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting in-depth interview and focused group discussion
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative software such as Atlas. ti, NVivo, Open Code
  • Excellent data organization, programming, and communication skills are required, as is the ability to work effectively in a team setting
