ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Install, adjust, maintain, and/or repair biomedical equipment
2. Installs new equipment by adjusting, establishing, testing, and calibrating performance
3. Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment
4. Maintains supplies inventory by foreseeing needs, counting stock, placing orders, and verifying delivery
5. Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment, and answering all questions users might raise
6. Keeps biomedical equipment in working order by performing tests, following preventive maintenance guides, repairing and troubleshooting break downs, evaluating service contracts, ordering special services if necessary, and maintaining inventories
7. Prepares reports by analyzing, collecting, and recapping trends and information
8. Updates job skills and knowledge by reading technical journals, taking advantage of educational opportunities, and maintaining professional networks
9. Keeps patient information he came across confidential
10. Maintains a healthy and safe working environment by fulfilling and recommending procedures, performing safety tests, complying with codes, and guiding and training health care and medical personnel
11. Troubleshoot problems arising in designing and developing of medical devices and surgical instruments
12. Advise on the planning, acquisition, and use of medical equipment
13. Keeping up to date with the latest developments in the field of Biomedical Engineering nationally and globally
14. Help in creating a skill upgrading to the operation of biomedical equipment by providing demonstrations, supplying information and data, instructing others in the care and use of.

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Job Requirement

• BSC degree in Biomed Engineering from recognized institution or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Previous hospital experience is added advantage
