Drives vehicles to provide transport services to FGAE staff, supply and equipment while on official duty, field trip and for other authorized reasons. In addition to this the Driver Mechanic shall conducts minor maintenance and shall have knowledge of cars maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS :
- Ensures the proper functioning of the car assigned to him/her by checking before starting engine;
- Maintains and handles assigned vehicles, spare tires and other accessories properly and with care;
- Checks engine oil, water level, tire pressure, fuel, etc., before any travel and reports and ensures servicing of the assigned vehicle regularly;
- Checks damaged or burst tires as and when required, ensures the safety and proper usage of the assigned vehicles, tools and other accessories at all times;
- Detects any defect of the car and reports to his immediate supervisor for timely repair and maintenance;
- Distributes/collects letters, packages, parcels and messages on behalf of the Association;
- Fills in fuel and oil consumed and kilometer readings before and after any travel on appropriate transport forms and submits same to his immediate supervisor;
- Conducts minor maintenance;
- Performs such other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by his immediate supervisor from time to time.
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Auto Mechanic (TVET Lev-IV) & Grade 3 Driving License
- 3 years after graduation in college diploma , shall posses an extensive experiences in driver mechanic or similar position in the NGO sector
