Duties and Qualifications

WORK DETAILS

Electrical

  • Twice a week routine checkup of all the electrical System & appliances: Defective bulbs, tube lights, parameter lights, fans, switches, sockets, plug points, short circuiting/Tripping lines, re-wiring, managing tangled wires, load balancing and any other job.
  • A thorough checking up to all the electrical systems which includes cleaning of all panel junctions, tightening of all connections, checking/cleaning/greasing of all contracts, checking of Main Circuit Breakers.
  •  Maintenance of the office high voltage transformer, main electric meters, main power supply in liaison with Ethiopian Electric Utility (as required)
  • Installation of various electrical equipment etc. where necessary. Be able to repair or arrange to repair all kinds of electronic and electrical items.

General maintenance

  • A routine checkup for all the general maintenance & repair work. The work includes maintenance of flooring, shades, roofing...etc.

Plumbing

  • Installation or repair of flush, shower, repair of leakages from pipelines both internal and external, surface drains, manhole cleaning, removal of blockage in the pipelines using pressure pump as required
  • Pipelines (Cold and Hot water supply pipeline)
  • Toilet leak repair
  • Wash basin/Sink leakage repair
  • Tap repair & replacement
  • Rainwater drainage pipelines
  • Gutter pipe Fixtures
  • Flush, shower repair of leakages from pipe.
  • Removal of blockage in the pipeline using pressure pump as required
  • Boiler repair

Carpentry

The incumbent will do the Carpentry work on as & when required basis which will include:

  • Tighten/repair chair, cupboards
  • Aluminum/ wooden windows & door, fixing door frames and door lock
  •  Repair mosquito net

Maintenance of generator

  • Provide scheduled general service of generators. If major maintenance required, report to the management
  • Frequency of intervention: Routine checkup for all type of work on weekly/biweekly basis.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in General Maintenance and Repair of engines, generators, or mechanical work, etc
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, and graduate from Technical schools will be an added advantage (TVET).
  • Related experience preferred.

Certificates and/or Licenses

  • Driving License

Language Requirements

  • For General Service jobs: Knowledge of English and/or UN working language of the duty station if not English.
