Job Description

Description of the Unit/Department CST Ethiopia represents the overseas development and humanitarian agencies of the Catholic Church from England and Wales (CAFOD), Scotland (SCIAF), and Ireland (Trócaire) in Ethiopia. The three agencies have over 40 years’ of experience in international development and humanitarian response and are each members of worldwide networks, including Caritas Internationalis. Currently, the three agencies jointly operate a single, integrated country program in Ethiopia through the legal entity CST Ethiopia.

CST Ethiopia is implementing a 2017-21 country strategic plan focused on two programs – Women’s Empowerment and Resilient Communities, which integrates sustainable livelihoods, humanitarian and other (e.g. peacebuilding) programming.

A great opportunity for individuals looking to develop his/her career in HR and Administration /or to work towards Office Management, HR and Administration role. This is a key role the Finance and Administration team. This post will facilitate the smooth running of the CST ETHIOPIA office through:

  • Office coordination, internal communication and Administration
  • HR administration, advice and local labor law expertise
  • Facilities management (including support staff management)

Person Specification – Essential Requirements

Qualification

  • Minimum first degree Human Resource Management & Office Administration
  • Excellent networking skills with the ability to establish good relationships, confident in engaging with colleagues, partners and stakeholders
  • Constructively critical and analytical
  • Open-minded and flexible in approach
  • Effective communication
  • Readiness to work outside of the framed job description
  • Availability to work outside regular hours to meet deadlines.
  • Human Resource skill
  • IT and relevant HR database (Agresso, and other HR software’s)

Experience

  • At least 5 years of HR management experience with at least 2 years HR focal person
  • 3-5 year of demonstrated experience in Office Administration;
  • Proven experience in Human Resource Administration including sound understanding of recruitment processes; experience in supervision and coaching dynamic team
  • Good understanding of Ethiopian labour law
