Job Description

Abeba Giday Business Group (Abeba Giday Trading House, Abeba Transport, Addis Spare Parts, and Bazen Agricultural and Industrial PLC…) are looking for the following vacancies.

Main purpose of the job

To ensure that the company meets its performance targets through the development and maintenance of information systems

Main responsibilities

Develop and maintain the company’s information systems to ensure that they support the attainment of business objectives
Develop and maintain the information systems budget to ensure that expenditure is accurately forecasted and kept within agreed limits
Introduce all necessary security measures to ensure that data systems are secure from data loss or misuse
Monitor all IS-based key management systems to ensure that any problems are rapidly dealt with and any defects remedied
Provide any required IT-based management information to assist with effective decision-making
Develop systems as necessary to meet changing business needs
Provide training and advice as required to users of information systems to ensure that they make the best use of those systems
Monitor IS-based projects to ensure that results are delivered within agreed timescales and budgets
Maintain an awareness of developments in the information systems field to ensure that the company continues to follow best practice
Direct and control information systems staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their responsibilities to the required standard
Develop a program of maintenance and support for all IT systems to ensure minimum downtime and fast resolution of any problems
Respond to inquiries from staff to help them resolve any hardware or software problem
Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing any necessary training and advice
Arrange for external technical support where problems cannot be resolved in-house

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and experience required

BSc degree in Computer Science and related qualifications
At least 5 years experience operating computer systems
Wide knowledge of IT systems and the latest developments in these
Good knowledge of computer-based business packages
A broad range of technical computer skills
Relevant technical skills (repair and maintenance skill a privilege)
Good communication and systems management skills
