Job Description

Abeba Giday Business Group (Abeba Giday Trading House, Abeba Transport, Addis Spare Parts, and Bazen Agricultural and Industrial PLC…) are looking for the following vacancies. 

Main purpose of the job

To direct and control the personnel department to provide a comprehensive and professional personnel support service to the company

Main responsibilities

  • Direct and control the company’s staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards
  • Develop and implement personnel policies to support business goals and to ensure that the company complies with legal requirements and best practices

  • Define the quality standards to be applied in the management of the company’s staff and monitor these to ensure that a high-quality personnel service continues to be provided to the company
  • Develop, implement and monitor all required personnel procedures relating to staff terms and conditions of employment to ensure that the company complies with legal requirements and best practices
  • Provide a comprehensive personnel advisory service to all company managers and staff to ensure that the company follows best practices in the management of its staff and to ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Explore and develop personnel policies that will ensure that the company recruits and retains a pool of well-trained and highly motivated staff
  • Provide an employee relations service to the company, including negotiating with employee representatives on personnel issues, to ensure that harmonious relationships and effective communications are maintained between management and staff
  • Identify the company’s staffing needs and develop policies and procedures to ensure that the required numbers and types of staff are recruited within agreed budgets to meet the operational requirements
  • Recommend and implement reward policies and structures that ensure the effective recruitment and retention of high-quality employees
  • Maintain comprehensive personnel records to ensure compliance with Equal Opportunities and other legal requirements and to provide information on staffing issues to the company and other relevant bodies…

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and experience required

  • At least BA degree in HR management from recognized college or university
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in HR management and personnel development
  • Management level experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of HR management in the business industry
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Good organizing and analytical ability
  • Excellent staff profile and documentation handling skills
