Main purpose of the job

To direct and control a team of accountancy staff providing full accounting services for a large operating center

Main responsibilities

• Direct and control accountancy staff to ensure that they are appropriately trained and motivated and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards
• Assist in the development of business plans to enable the company to meet its corporate objectives
• Provide full accounting services, including the preparation of estimates, annual operating and capital budgets, and final accounts for an operating center
• Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on the interpretation and implementation of financial regulations and accountancy codes of practice
• Develop and maintain all other necessary controls and processes to ensure that legal and financial requirements and regulations are complied with
• Monitor the financial information system to ensure that timely and accurate information is provided for managerial decision-making
• Oversee the preparation of statistical returns and financial analysis on a range of topics for internal and external use
• Supervise the administration of any loans and repayments, including maintaining liaison with business partners and lenders (Banks…)
• Develop any required systems and procedures to enable the regular and accurate collection of financial and other performance data
• Prepare regular and accurate financial reports on the company’s profit and cost centers to enable managers to make effective financial and operational decisions
• Provide advice to managers and staff on data obtained, highlighting any particular problem areas, so that any necessary remedial action can be taken
• Assist managers and staff in the development of systems and procedures to enable the effective monitoring and control of financial and performance measures
• Carry out various ad hoc projects concerning financial and performance data
• Prepare and monitor cash flow projections and associated records to determine the optimum use of funds or the need to raise additional revenue…

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and experience required

• At least BA degree in Accounting from recognized college or university
• A minimum of 7 years experience in preparing management accounts, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
• Excellent managerial experience
• Excellent skill and experience in using computerized accounting packages
• Good ability to analyze complex financial information and produce reports
• Excellent documentation skills
• Good accuracy and punctuality behavior
• Excellent interpersonal and work ethics skills
