Main responsibilities

• To direct and control the procurement and marketing of import, export, and sales of materials and services by applying a range of marketing techniques
• Identify and develop new initiatives to improve the range and quality of the products and services provided by the company and to ensure responsiveness to changes in the external environment
• Analyze trends in the business environment, help to develop products and services that are responsive to market demands, and identify new market opportunities
• Assist in formulating and monitoring the annual business plan to ensure the long-term success and viability of the company and the attainment of corporate objectives
• Critically evaluate the costs and benefits of all new ideas and initiatives to ensure that resources are appropriately directed and to keep the company ahead of its competitors
• Advise the company, on the development of new initiatives and the promotion and marketing of products particularly the export of branded coffee and other agricultural produce to ensure the achievement of the company’s business plan and corporate objectives
• Run tenders, evaluate bids, and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
• Negotiate and agree on contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided
• Undertake value for money reviews of existing contracts and arrangements
• Ensure the security and sustainability of sources of essential products and services
• Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, internal teams such as supply chain, planning, marketing, IT and sales, and customers
• Apt in responding to customer and supplier inquiries
• Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, specifications, and terminology, and comparing prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers and buyers. prepare, maintain and review purchasing and selling documents
• Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders
• Approve bills for payment, charge or forward invoices to the appropriate accounts, and monitor in-house inventory transfer forms for bookkeeping records (with a further approval of GM)
• Continuously monitoring, evaluating, and improving supplier and buyer’s performances were done under contracts, legal and pre-contract defined standards
• Direct, monitor and control the purchasing budget
• Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities and give presentations about market analysis and possible growth
• Ensuring the adequate supply of all required materials, components, and equipment ahead of time
• Develop procurement and marketing sourcing strategies
• Undertake such other duties and tasks as may lie within the scope of this post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the services
• Keep the management up to date with trends and innovations, regulations, and new technology that can impact the business

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and experience required

• A qualified BA degree in Marketing and procurement, business management, or related fields
• At least 10 years experience in the marketing and procurement function
• Extensive management experience
• Well established track record in the field of marketing
• Detailed knowledge of the company and its products
• Good interpersonal skills of the highest order
• Effective negotiation and communication skills
