Job Description

Development Expertise Center (DEC) is a National Civil Society Organization (CSO) aspires to see all marginalized children properly fostered. The organization has three major program areas; Child Development, Gender and Life Skill Development; and Skills and Entrepreneurship Development and Lobby & advocacy . DEC works in three National Regional States of Amhara, Afar and Oromia and Addis Ababa City Administration. DEC would like to recruit on  Finance Coordinator

Roles and responsibilities

  • Participates in budget preparations and ensures that approved program and budget plans are formally issued to departments and projects
  • Ensures that all financial & budgetary documents are filled and maintained according to the organization accounting & budgetary policies and as revised.
  • Makes support visits to projects and partners.
  • Ensures timely responses to external and internal communications regarding financial issues..
  • Ensures that financial and administrative reporting deadlines are respected.
  • Develops annual work plan for his/her area of responsibility and works towards the achievement of those plans.
  • Monitors the regular and timely preparation and submission of accounting and budgetary reports.
  • Assists the Admin & Financial Manager with preparation and consolidation of the annual budget.

Job Requirements

Education & work experience

  • MA Degree in Finance and Accounting
  • Minimum 3 and above CSO/Local NGO/ experience in similar position.

Additional Skills

  • Advanced PC skills, particularly knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel as well as other financial software packages
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and Knowledge of government grant and contracting procedures
  • Advanced skill in IPSAS and Knowledge on Peachtree
