BACKGROUND
Intrinsic Consultancy PLC is an Ethiopian consulting firm specializing in holistic business and end-to-end investment advisory services, enterprise competitiveness and value chain development. We provide quality and efficient consultancy services extending from facilitating entry of foreign investors to Ethiopia to institutional capacity building and work culture transformation for public and private organizations. Intrinsic Consultancy has a strategic focus on the Textile and Apparel, Leather and Footwear, Pharmaceutical, and Agro-Processing sectors.
BACKGROUND SPECIFIC TO THIS ASSIGNMENT
Large enterprises (local and foreign direct investment) can become catalysts for growth and development of MSMEs through their market linkages. For example, only 10% of factories’ in industrial park exports are added-value in-country. This is a major opportunity for local manufacturers to fill the gap and substitute the 90% of work imported currently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS OF THIS ENGAGEMENT INCLUDE:
Analyst
- Identifying products and/or services that have significant backward or forward business linkages and job creation potential. The products suggested should be in line with Ethiopia’s resource base to assure comparative competitiveness
- Identifying constraints limiting local manufacturers from providing demanded services and/or products for large enterprises/investors;
- Propose project proposal or interventions to address the constraints/gaps identified
- Propose different policy and impediment measures needed for creating local linkage and investment promotion
- Collect/ develop various local suppliers company profiles and disseminate as need be
Job Requirements
ANALYST QUALIFICATION:
The ideal candidate is expected:
- To have a BA degree or above in Management, Economics, international relations or related fields and at least five years of relevant work experience
- Experience working in management consulting or development projects
- Strong program coordination and communication skills
- Profound knowledge of the key actors (both private sector and government) in the linkage area being proposed
