Place of work: Addis Ababa

Terms of employment: One year with a possibility of extension

Remuneration and Benefits:

Medical Cover: Asper the Organization Policy

Starting monthly gross salary:  14,296.00 ETB      

Monthly Transport Allowance: 2,200.00 ETB

Main Purpose

Performing the day to day activities and administrative processes for the clearance and transportation of medical and non-medical goods for a particular supply office (coordination or project level) according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure the optimal running of the mission/project

Accountabilities

  • Performing the day to day activities and administrative processes to ensure an efficient running of the clearance and transportation processes of medical and non-medical goods for a supply office (coordination or project) following the supply procedures according to MSF standards and protocols. Including the following activities: 
  • Managing and planning, in collaboration with the line Supervisor and the Warehouse Supervisor, the shipment of goods between the projects and/or from the capital to the projects choosing the best possible means of transport
  • Being responsible for the reception of international freight and its forwarding to the field.
  • Being responsible for all customs and administrative related issues
  • Regularly assessing the local transport market (companies, prices, services, delays,…), and proposing different third party providers for validation
  • Performing delegated tasks according to his / her activity and as specified in his/her job descriptio

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

  • Performing the day-to-day activities and administrative processes to ensure an efficient running of the clearance and transportation processes of medical and logistic goods for a supply office (coordination or project) following the supply procedures according to MSF standards and protocols and specific country regulation. Including the following activities: 
  • Managing and planning, in collaboration with the line Supervisor and the Warehouse Supervisor, the shipment of goods between the projects and/or from the capital to the projects choosing the best possible means of transport
  • Being responsible for the reception of international freight and its forwarding to the field and updating online Cargo follow up in the real time if any change of status of each process
  • Being responsible to upload medication details on One-Window (FMHACA system) such as Certificate of Analysis, Pre Import Permit, Donation Certificate, Invoices, Packing list, VDD (Valuation declaration documents) and other requirement
  • Direct contact with MOH for support letter and MOF for tax-free letter and any other relevant authority involved in importation and exportation of humanitarian supplies.
  • Being responsible for all customs and administrative related issues such as application or requirement by authorities (MOF, EPSA, FMHACA, etc.),
  • Collaborate actively with relevant departments in HQ (APU), Kenya Office, Coordination and projects regarding importation and transportation of medical and non-medical goods.
  • Collaboration and cooperation with Pharma Manager and Supply Officer and perform of the job in case of absence
  • In close contact with Clearance agent for cargo release
  • Improving and following up the monitoring systems in place
  • Performing delegated tasks according to his / her activity and as specified in his/her job description
  • Preparing monthly reports and providing analysis related to various tasks

Job Requirements

Education

  • Essential Degree/diploma in Pharmacy Technician (qualified pharmacy technician) or related fields 

Experience

  • At least 2 year experience in supply chain related jobs or in the logistics department
